With the current news regarding @mstdnca I've been torn as to how I should personally respond.
If this was a commercial instance I would have jumped shipped without hesitation; I don't believe in loyalty to companies
However this is a volunteer run and hosted instance and as such I do feel a sense of loyalty because I greatly appreciate what @chad@mstdn.ca does. The legal issues that constitute a potential threat to the instance are before the courts and so far we only have one parties version of events, thus I want to give Chad the benefit of the doubt until his version comes out. As the son of a lawyer I also know that he is almost certainly receiving legal advice not to speak about this publicly, so I don't expect any comments on it from him.
Thus for now I am staying with mstdn.ca but have created a backup profile on another instance just in case.
