I am happy with how this turned out. This is for a local startup business that wants an internal wiki (asked for mediawiki) and the ability to have more php-mariadb (mysql) custom web apps. Why a GUI for a server? Just in case it is needed. I am not going to be doing all the work and I want it as easy as possible to use. Linux Mint Debian Edition is a good fit, as then I can just treat it like a Debian server. That's similar to a lot of the other Linux consulting I do. I have a hard disk drive for versioned backup. Configured Time Shift to back up everything to it. Seems to work well, as I can browse the Timeshift snapshot in the file browser. I also set up MediaWiki for them. Learned a few things there. I had to set a root mariadb password. I customized it with a logo and also made some other adjustments to the MediaWiki LocalSettings.php file. #LinuxMint #Debian #Linux #MediaWiki #wiki

Experimenting with more Artix Linux "spins" (that the right word?) This is a USB live boot of Moksha desktop environment. Moksha is interesting to me as it is a continuation of the Enlightenment Desktop, written in C and with BSD style software license. Very #RetroEdge. I liberated an HP Chromebox G1 with CoreBoot using the MrChromeBox script.

Now running Artix Linux with KDE, as I'd like to get more experience with KDE. With the regular system update commands, the most recent KDE 6.6 that was just released last week was pulled down and installed without problems.

I also installed XLibre as a replacement for Xorg.

So far, so good.

I have some parts for a ThinkPad X220T ("tablet" version) with i7 CPU. I may have a couple of those laptops, but none in perfect working condition. Took Algebra at a local community college and had to work really hard to get an 'A-'. Credit did not transfer to my university, so had to take algebra again. I think I got a 'B' but the teacher at university was much worse than the one at the community college.

Now, one of my sons is learning trigonometry by taking a C programming course from Pikuma... and he's interested in it.

"Do not immediately attribute to malice that which can be attributed to stupidity." is what comes to my mind on this topic. It's not that people immediately look to do harmful things, often it is that they have a very difficult time even thinking about how to make change between two currencies for a morally good transaction.
